In my “stage ii - keyword discovery” post I talked about using Wordtracker, which has been theindustry standard tool for doing keyword research for a few years now, and it’s still pretty good, however..

There are a few new contenders for the title and a couple are better inmho.

I now use Keyword Discovery instead of WordTracker for my article sites as it does the same job, but is quicker and can produce bigger lists for me to use.

On the other hand, if you are using site generation tools to build lots of sites and you need lots of long keyword lists quickly and easily then there are two tools that you can use to great effect.

The first is another site that I run, www.topkeywordlists.com, which is a membership site that gives you 25 or 50 keyword lists researched for you each week, ready to plug in to whatever site building tools you use.

The second, Keyword Domination, allows you to do the same thing for yourself and can produce truly massive keyword lists (often around 9,000+ keywords), as well as having extra features like uploading a list/batch of keywords to be researched in one go, being able to translate the kewyords in to foreign languages for you, and being able to “clean” the lists as well.

If you’re not sure about what niches or markets you want to go for, or need help coming up with ones that are profitable, then it’s also worth investing in a list of high paying keywords such as KeywordExplosion, which is the biggest list I’ve found anywhere..
